There are some inputs approved for use in organic production. The National Organic Program regulation contains a list of approved and prohibited substances for you to refer to. In addition, please contact your CCS regarding inputs. We cannot tell you what to use, however we can tell you whether or not you can use a specific product.

We will need to view a copy of the label and/or an MSDS sheet and have a member of the certification team review it. This is something that must be done annually as many products change their formula.

Another source you can use is the Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) lists. Make sure to read the status of listed products carefully as products are either Approved (can be used for your organic operation), Restricted (use is limited to the description given), or Prohibited (it cannot be used).

If you are already using OMRI approved products, please watch this page closely as below is a listing of OMRI dropped products (products OMRI no longer approves). If you are using one of these products, ICS will need to review the label.
